Thundering Pandaren Spirit – Master Tamer
Hello again!
This month we’re taking a look at the Thundering Pandaren Spirit Master Tamer. He is located just north of the Shrine of Two Moons, the Horde’s main base out in Pandaria.
This guy can be pretty frustrating at first because his first pet has two abilities that can stun you, making it difficult to kill him. However, if you toss a Critter in your first slot, you can avoid those stuns. As you can see from my team below, I chose a critter that also has an Aquatic ability since that is hard-hitting versus an Elemental type pet.
The second pet, Sludgy, is from the Magic pet family. Dragonkin are the best types versus this family; however, I highly suggest a dragonkin that has a heal ability as Sludgy has a super hard-hitting ability. Even though it’s not an ‘up’ ability vs Dragonkin it still can hit you for a ton of damage. I usually let him hit my first pet with it, then his DoT, then swap to my dragon. Be sure to not wait too long to use your heal ability. In the video I got super lucky that he didn’t kill me, because I waited one turn too long to heal up. If you have a dragonkin that has a Health stat, that would probably be useful as well, since the extra HP would be a nice buffer.
The third pet is a Beast, on which you can use any old Mechanical. However, he does have one HUGE ability that is strong against Mechanicals, so be careful there. The only benefit of this ability is that it hurts him as well when he uses it. I used a Mech with the Repair ability, and it worked out OK, but it was close there as well. Originally, I was using my De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion in this slot, but I was using the ability that had a 50% hit chance (Demolish), and even though I got lucky both times I tested it, I figured I’d use a pet that had a 100% hit chance. That being said, if you’re feeling lucky, and have the De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion, go ahead and give it a shot. When the 50% ability hits, it hits hard.

So there you have it. This guy can be a little tricky, but with the right pets and counters, he falls easily.
