Burning Pandaren Spirit – Master Tamer

Hello again!

Continuing with our Pandaren Spirit Tamers, this month we’re taking on the Burning Pandaren Spirit out on the coastline of Townlong Steppes.

I did not start out to make this a one-pet strategy. However, it turns out that the Anubisath Idol is quite capable of taking on the whole team! You just have to plan your Deflections properly and keep up Stoneskin and it’s quite doable. I am going to list the whole team I took with me, as RNG does happen, and it’s better to be prepared with a full team.

BurningPandarenSpirit
My Team
Pet Ability 1 Ability 2 Ability 3
Anubisath Idol H/H Crush Stoneskin Deflection
Silkbead Snail H/S Ooze Touch Shell Shield Dive
Nether Faerie Dragon S/B Arcane Blast Life Exchange Moonfire
Burning Pandaren Spirit’s Team
Pet Ability 1 Ability 2 Ability 3
Crimson P/S Breath Cyclone  Lift-Off
Pandaren Fire Spirit P/S  Conflagrate  Immolate Cauterize
Glowy S/B Swarm Confusing Sting Glowing Toxin

teampicMoves to watch out for: Lift-Off, Conflagrate and Swarm.

Lift-off and Conflagrate can be avoided with Deflection, Swarm can be blocked with Stoneskin (very helpful). Should your Anubisath Idol die, bring in your Silkbead Snail and you can use Dive in place of Deflection and Shell Shield in place of Stoneskin. If he also dies, the remaining opponent(s) should be low enough that you can just pew-pew them down. However, keep an eye on your health, and if you start getting too low, use your Life Exchange (as long as your opponent has higher health than you, of course). But, like I said, I was able to do it with just my Anubisath Idol.

Move breakdown from the video:

Anubisath Idol vs. Crimson

Round 1
Crimson uses Cyclone.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 2
Crimson uses Lift-Off.
Anubisath Idol uses Stoneskin.

Round 3
Anubisath Idol uses Deflection (this move always goes first) to avoid the dive-bombing Crimson.
Crimson’s Lift-Off ends.

Round 4
Crimson uses Breath.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 5
Crimson uses Breath.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush .

Round 6
Crimson uses Breath.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Crimson dies.

Anubisath Idol vs. Pandaren Fire Spirit

Round 7
Anubisath Idol uses Deflection.
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Conflagrate.

Round 8
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Cauterize.
Anubisath Idol uses Stoneskin.

Round 9
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Immolate.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 10
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Pandaren Fire Spirit passes.

Round 11
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Pandaren Fire Spirit passes.

Round 12
Anubisath Idol uses Deflection (this is VERY important).
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Conflagrate (in an attempt to deal the additional damage from you burning, however, since we used Deflection, it misses).

Round 13
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Cauterize (healing him a good bit).
Anubisath Idol uses Stoneskin.

Round 14
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Immolate.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 15
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Pandaren Fire Spirit passes.

Round 16
Anubisath Idol uses Crush (see a pattern here?).
Pandaren Fire Spirit passes. (It’s very important not to zone out however repetitive this fight seems. Missing a Deflection or allowing Stoneskin to fall off would be problematic.)

Round 17
Pandaren Fire Spirit uses Conflagrate.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Pandaren Fire Spirit dies.

*This round I could have used my Deflection again; even though I killed the enemy with Crush, I took 500+ damage that could have been avoided. However, had I used my Deflection, the following round the Pandaren Fire Spirit would probably have used Cauterize, healing up a ton, and I may or may not have been able to finish him off. Feel free to play around and let me know how you handle this round and if it turns out well! :)

Anubisath Idol vs. Glowy

Round 18
Glowy uses Confusing Sting.
Anubisath Idol uses Stoneskin. (It is super important to not let this fall off as it blocks 70+ damage from each hit, and Glowy applies two different dots to you, not to mention Stoneskin completely blocks Swarm.)

Round 19
Glowy uses Glowing Toxin.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 20
Glowy uses Swarm (which, if you’ve kept up your Stoneskin, is completely harmless).
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 21
Glowy’s Swarm continues.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 22
Glowy’s Swarm finishes.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.

Round 23
Glowy uses Swarm again.
Anubisath Idol uses Stoneskin. (Don’t forget to keep this applied!)

Round 24
Glowy’s Swarm continues.
Anubisath Idol uses Crush.
Glowy dies.
Anubisath Idol barely survives. However, even if he had died, you would have still won the fight since both of your backline pets are still alive.

So there you have it! One pet, three kills. :)

Did this strategy help you out? Is there a tamer you just can’t seem to beat? Do you have feedback on any of our past Tamer Tuesdays? Let us know on our forums! We love hearing from you!
