Newsletter July 18: It's Patch Week!

Post by piwakawaka » July 18th, 2016, 3:13 am

July 2016
Year 2, Issue 29

Hello, Readers.

It's time to fasten your seat belts everyone. By the time next maintenance is done everything will have changed. We'll have our new wardrobe, classes to relearn, and absolute chaos to deal with as we slowly clear our bags out for prompt refilling the moment Legion launches.

There are a few important things to remember, the pre-expansion patch is not going to be immediately active, nor are demon hunters. Blizzard are giving us all some time to come to terms with the changes before throwing us in the deep end. With massive changes to the Garrison, look carefully at what you have and whether or not you can make money from it. Not everything will be irrelevant and Sumptuous Fur for Hexweave Bags will be able to make money all through Legion due to the lack of a bag upgrade.

I hope you all have a good time with the changes!

Legion is rapidly approaching and along with it will come many changes. There are some change we would like to re-remind everyone of so that you can take advantage of things now!

Certain pets will likely become much more difficult to locate or obtain. The http://www.wowhead.com/npc=88413/crimsonwing-moth from Talador and the http://www.wowhead.com/npc=88356/sapphire-firefly from Spires of Arak are limit 1-per-zone wild pets. They can be somewhat aggravating to track down currently, but will be much harder to find when dealing with cross-realm zoning (CRZ). If you need help locating either of these two pets, A3 can help! Wakamaru finds them by the truck load for people every Sunday and Vivienne can help through A3's Wild Pet Capture Service - you just need to ask!

In the WoD 6.2.1 patch three new magic pets were added: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98237/empowered-manafiend, http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98238/empyreal-manafiend, and http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98236/energized-manafiend. These pets drop from rare spawns http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98199/pugg, http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98200/guk, and http://www.wowhead.com/npc=98198/rukdug in Nagrand. They are personal loot items, have around a 10% drop chance, and you have one chance per day for them to drop. You may want to start trying to farm them now if you don't already have them. These rares can be soloed with some effort and are in an area accessible only by flying mount. If you haven't earned http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1001 ... pathfinder yet, you can post in the A3 community forums to find someone to give you a lift. Park a character in the area and check back daily.

When the WoD zones become CRZ zones there are several rare mounts which will become even tougher to locate. Be on the lookout for these now! Most of these rares can be soloed. The rares that drop mounts are: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=50883/pathrunner in Shadowmoon Valley (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116773/swift-breezestrider), http://www.wowhead.com/npc=50992/gorok in Frostfire Ridge (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116674/great-greytusk), http://www.wowhead.com/npc=50985/poundfist in Gorgrond (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116792/sunhide-gronnling), http://www.wowhead.com/npc=51015/silthide in Talador (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116767/sapphire-riverbeast), http://www.wowhead.com/npc=50981/lukhok in Nagrand (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116661/mott ... dowstomper), and http://www.wowhead.com/npc=50990/nakk-the-thunderer (http://www.wowhead.com/item=116659/bloodhoof-bull), also in Nagrand. http://www.wowhead.com/npc=81001/nok-karosh in Frostfire Ridge drops the BoE http://www.wowhead.com/item=116794/garn-nighthowl mount, but you’ll need help killing this rare.

Last, but not least, the http://www.wowhead.com/item=121815/void ... -dark-star mount is obtained from http://www.wowhead.com/zone=7519/edge-of-reality portals scattered around Draenor. These portals have multiple spawn locations per zone and last for around 5 minutes once they spawn. IF no one uses the portal, after the 5 minutes it will despawn and respawn elsewhere after 1 hour. The respawn timer after a portal is used is a minimum of 13 hours. Again – realm hopping is your friend with this one!
Connecting A3ers Through Discord

A3 is always looking for new and interesting ways to connect with its members. One of our greatest hurdles, though, is connecting members to each other. With everyone playing on different servers, different factions, and the limitations of the friends list – many of you have probably never had a chance to connect. We hope to use the Discord App to help solve that!

The major perk of an app like Discord is that communication is live. Meaning – you can see it on the fly (assuming you are logged in). This will be an advantage over the forum or twitter where you need to check in throughout the day. It will be especially helpful with organizing groups, sharing rare spawn information with others, or just getting to know your fellow A3ers!

Wild Pet Capture Service
Above all else... A3 loves collecting pets! Collection doesn't just stop at pets that can be traded and adopted though - there are a few worlds' worth of wild pets out there waiting for collectors, too! A few of us would like to offer our love of hunting wild pets to A3 members to help them also round out their wild pet needs.

Each week (sometimes a few times each week!) we will comb zones to help members find the wild pets they are still after. We will turn a zone upside-down and inside-out looking for your pet(s) and message you once we've found them. You will then come and capture it!

There are both Horde and Alliance hunters on standby to help with the pet search, so both factions are welcome.
Weekly Raffle

Entries will be open from:
Jul 18 - Jul 22
for: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=94927/crusher
Do you want to help supply pets for adoption that A3 needs? We have a Pet Suppliers thread where members can sign up to sponsor certain pets they are willing to supply. When the supply of certain pets starts to run low or we have an upcoming project where we’ll need more of a certain pet – we’ll send out a notification about that pet to our suppliers! There is no guess work and no 24/7 farming because we’ll let you know when we’re in need of the pets.

There are no quotas to meet when supplying the pets that you signed up for. You can provide whatever amount you are comfortable with.

New supply options were added on March 6th.

[col3]Did you know that A3 has bills? It’s true! A3 has monthly and yearly bills related to the cost of operating the Agency. We earn some funds from ads on the site but most of A3’s operating costs are paid out of pocket.

Operating costs are the costs required to run the community – these do not include the costs of sponsoring giveaways.|A3 is a volunteer operated project and we need the help of our members to keep the site online.

Currently only 3% of our members have contributed to assist with operating costs. 1% of our members have contributed more than once.

A few spare dollars here and there can go a long way!|Donations are accepted through PayPal. A PayPal account is not required to donate.

For more information about donating you can read the Can I help the Agency financially? F.A.Q.[/col3]
