Hello, Readers.

We're near two weeks into Legion and so far our regular contingent of Discord users seem to be enjoying themselves massively. As you might have noticed, A3 took an official break last week so our wonderful staff members could all take the time to recharge and enjoy the new expansion before diving back into our duties.

With our return you'll notice a few things. We have obtained several new staff members over the past several months, although they haven't been properly introduced in the newsletter yet. If you see them around make sure to say hi to Vivienne, Flameflash, and our newest recruit OzinLA. Our newsletter has had a facelift: instead of one long post, it's now being broken into sections so you can skip ahead to the parts you want to see, or go back to a part you want to read again more easily.

You'll also notice our pet supplier thread has been cleaned up and made easier to read. With all of the new Legion pets, make sure you go check it out and see if you can help out. There's already been a lot of very enthusiastic donating happening over the last week, but to keep a steady supply for everyone we do need people willing to grab a pet or two when our stocks get low.

Now Legion is here, we're starting the next countdown, to Blizzcon! It's going to be interesting seeing what they'll be talking about for WoW, especially with the 7.1 sneak peek already out.

I hope you all have a good week, see you in the Broken Isles!

A3's 2-year Anniversary
The A3 anniversary preparations have officially begun! Prizes and giveaways this year will vary as they did last year, including pets, mounts, toys, store goodies, rare items, and more. The deadline for all contributions will be November 10th. If you are interested in helping farm or sponsor goodies for the anniversary celebrations, please contact Wakamaru via PRIVATE MESSAGE on the A3 forum.
A3 Team ChallengeAre you interested in winning Any Current BlizzStore Pet or a variety of Blizzard themed loot from J!nx? Of course you are! Participate in A3's new weekly event and you just might! This week's challenge:
Image
Wild Pet Capture Service
Above all else... A3 loves collecting pets! Collection doesn't just stop at pets that can be traded and adopted though - there are a few worlds' worth of wild pets out there waiting for collectors, too! A few of us would like to offer our love of hunting wild pets to A3 members to help them also round out their wild pet needs.

Each week (sometimes a few times each week!) we will comb zones to help members find the wild pets they are still after. We will turn a zone upside-down and inside-out looking for your pet(s) and message you once we've found them. You will then come and capture it!

There are both Horde and Alliance hunters on standby to help with the pet search, so both factions are welcome.

Weekly RafflesHello A3ers!

The Weekly Raffle will be taking a bit of a hiatus. At this time we are not gaining raffle stock at a rate that will sustain it being a weekly deal. Instead we will convert some of these pets to normal adoptions (as stock allows) and others we will do in an as-available raffle-type setup.

As always, upcoming raffle announcements will be located in the newsletter the week before they will be available. Be on the lookout for them!
Adoptions
Do you want to help supply pets for adoption that A3 needs? We have a Pet Suppliers thread where members can sign up to sponsor certain pets they are willing to supply. When the supply of certain pets starts to run low or we have an upcoming project where we’ll need more of a certain pet – we’ll send out a notification about that pet to our suppliers! There is no guess work and no 24/7 farming because we’ll let you know when we’re in need of the pets.

There are no quotas to meet when supplying the pets that you signed up for. You can provide whatever amount you are comfortable with.

New supply options were added on March 6th.

For more information about the Pet Supplier project click here.

We are also looking for volunteers able to donate the new Legion pets. A more detailed list of what we require will be featured in the newsletter once we are further into the expansion. Anyone already able to donate should not hesitate to put their name forward however.
Whether entering a one-time competition or requesting your weekly pets, please remember these essential tips so your requests and entries aren't disqualified.
 • Don't forget to keep your WarcraftPets account up to date. You can find a guide on how to do this here.
 • Please remember to check what pets you have before submitting requests! Add-ons, and the armory don't always display things accurately.
 • Please remember to report your request list if you acquire a pet you have requested. We've modified our system so that even if your post has already been flagged you can still report and make changes.

This Month In WoW
According to Blizzard Entertainment, this month is going to be one of the biggest months in the history of the game. There will be a ton to do and Blizzard has taken the time to put together a list of things that we won't want to miss!
World of Warcraft: Legion

The Expansion is Live!
The Tomb of Sargeras has been reopened, and the demons of the Burning Legion pour into our world. Their full, terrifying might is fixed on summoning the Dark Titan to Azeroth—and they’ve already located the key to his return.
In Game Events

September 4 – 11 Darkmoon Faire
Come one, come all—step up for a fun-filled week of activities that will keep you coming back for more! Participate in games to earn special prizes! Everybody's a winner at the Darkmoon Faire!

During the first week of each month, convenient Darkmoon Faire outposts with Darkmoon Portals will appear in Elwynn Forest and Mulgore, offering free rides to Darkmoon Island and the Faire.

September 9 – 16 Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is a time to commemorate those who have sacrificed their lives to help friends and allies. Feasts are held outside Orgrimmar and Ironforge in honor of these fallen heroes.

September 19 Pirates' Day
Captain Demeza sails to the goblin town of Booty Bay and recruits land-lovers into her buccaneer ranks.

Visit her or her henchmen in the capital cities if the pirate's life is for you!

September 20 - October 6 Brewfest
First celebrated by the dwarves, Brewfest now holds appeal among all the races of Azeroth!

Visit the Alliance camp outside Ironforge, or the Horde camp outside Orgrimmar, and join the party!
Blizzard at PAX

PAX West takes over Seattle, Washington again this year from September 2- 5, but you don’t need to attend to get in on some of the action.

You’ll be able to sit back and have a hot mug of coffee or steaming cup of tea in the comfort of your own home and still catch all of the latest from our live panel stream here on the site — no umbrella required. World of Warcraft developers, Louis Barriga, Cory Stockton, and Eric Maloof will be on hand to talk Legion and the next chapter in its evolution.

When: Saturday, September 3 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT
Where: Live stream here or in person at the Wyvern Theater

We'll see you on the live stream September 3 at 1:00 p.m. PDT!

Class Trials Feature
Image
On the character-creation screen, players who have the World of Warcraft: Legion expansion now have the option to create and play a level-100 “Class Trial” character with a preset class specialization. You’ll take this character through a tutorial experience and get a chance to play until you acquire your Artifact weapon—after that, if you’d like to play the class further, just apply a level-100 character boost to continue your adventure on the Broken Isles. Blue Posts
New Blue! Welcome to Aerya!
Hey everyone!

Please join me in welcoming Aerya to the World of Warcraft Community Team!

Aerya has been a citizen of Azeroth since the earliest days of Warcraft, and she’s had her share of adventure over the years (wait for all of her tanking stories from Burning Crusade!).

She joins us to handle our day-to-day Social Media communications for World of Warcraft, but you may see her around here on the forums from time to time as the need arises. We’re happy to bring another experienced community veteran into the fray to help in our fight against the Burning Legion!

Welcome Aerya!

Forced PvP in the Underbelly?!! really???
This came up in Beta a lot and it seems like most of you here, are not sure about the mechanics down there, so here a small advice.

If you don´t want to pvp, go to the NPC at the entrance, ask him for a personal guard or tell him to set up the guards in the whole area and you are save.

You do not need to pvp if you don´t want to, the NPC is there for a reason. All professions have quests down there for the forge, the NPC is there to make sure, you can do them whenever you want.

Smoothest Launch Ever
Shout out to our amazing server engineers and the other folks who have helped make this launch a success! A lot of them worked tirelessly through long and stressful nights to make sure this went smooth. They typically live in the background of our day-to-day activities here, but I've never seen such an awesome launch since I started playing WoW, so the praise is deserved!

Another shout out to all the testers who have tirelessly supplied their feedback and notes on bugs, issues, and crashes over the course of Alpha and Beta - you guys helped create this experience as well, and we couldn't have done it without you.

Blizzard has amazing teams, and it's been awesome seeing us all come together to pull this off.

Amazon CE Delay
We have been investigating this and learned that there was a shipping issue which impacted some players who pre-ordered their CE from select retailers. We’re currently working with these retailers to address this issue and make sure these players get their copy of the CE as quickly as possible. We hope that this will be resolved shortly for you and any others affected.

Scale Legacy Content
I think it could be a cool feature that could bring a lot of challenge to the world, but I also personally recognize some people wouldn't like this.

I think many people feel they should grow in power over time as their character learns more spells, gains better gear, etc., and scaling legacy content without an opt-out system could really hurt those player's enjoyment of the content overall.

But on the other side I do agree it could possibly be a cool way to re-experience older content as it was meant to be seen. With the addition of World Quests in Legion, as well, I could see a system like this being an awesome way to bring some fun interaction into older world zones.

Ashran in Legion
Level 110 players will be able to queue for Ashran from the UI in Legion. It will work similar to battlegrounds, you can queue with up to 5 players.

Legion Single player or MMO?

One of my (personal) favourite things about Legion is that so much of the experience can naturally be shared with other players now.

For example, mobs are faction-tapped now, so if you're out questing and you see someone who's pulled a bit too much and is struggling - you can jump in and help and you'll also get EXP and loot. Likewise if you see some players taking on an elite, you can jump right in and assist them, no need to be in a party anymore.

Gathering nodes are personal, so there's no need for people to be "that guy" who waits for someone to pull the mobs around the node, before running in and harvesting the node. Now you can help each other and both get the node.

Admittedly these might not be as grand in scale as invasions (for example), but they're still nice little changes that hopefully encourage more spontaneous playing together while out in the Broken Isles.

Connecting A3ers through Discord
[col]ImageA3 is always looking for new and interesting ways to connect with its members. One of our greatest hurdles, though, is connecting members to each other. With everyone playing on different servers, different factions, and the limitations of the friends list – many of you have probably never had a chance to connect. We hope to use the Discord App to help solve that!

The major perk of an app like Discord is that communication is live. Meaning – you can see it on the fly (assuming you are logged in). This will be an advantage over the forum or twitter where you need to check in throughout the day. It will be especially helpful with organizing groups, sharing rare spawn information with others, or just getting to know your fellow A3ers!|[/col]
